FAQ For Cluster Convenors

General

1. Does a cluster convener have a separate login to the e-Gov portal ?

We have provided a separate login for every cluster convener to manage the cluster management operations.

2. What are the features available for the cluster convener through the e-Gov portal?

The cluster convener can perform the following cluster management activities.

  • Add/Edit CoursesAdd/Edit Courses
  • Add/Edit Curriculum
  • Finalize Curriculum
  • Upload Syllabus
  • View Course Mapping of Colleges
Academics

1. How do we add/modify the courses?

After logging on using the cluster credentials, click the Courses menu and add or edit the Courses.

2. How do we add/edit the curriculum for the branches/streams offered by our cluster?

After logging on using the cluster credentials, click the Curriculum menu and add or edit the curriculum. Please refer to the Curriculum Management User Manual for detailed steps on using this feature.

3. What is the curriculum verification process?

Colleges in your cluster can initiate course selection and student registration only if you perform the verification of the curriculum. Once the curriculum is verified, no more changes can be made in the courses. Please refer to the Curriculum Verification User Manual for detailed steps on using this feature.

4. How do we make corrections in credit or hours even after the curriculum is verified?

In special cases, we allow certain changes in the curriculum which are restricted to selected fields in the curriculum such as credits, Is Elective and Allow Student Choice. Please refer to the Curriculum Restricted Save User Manual for detailed steps on using this feature.

5. How do we upload the syllabus for a branch/stream?

For each branch/stream of the program, the syllabus can be uploaded as a PDF file through the KTU e-Gov platform. Please refer to the Curriculum Syllabus Upload User Manual for detailed steps on using this feature.

1. How do we view the course mapping details of the institutions coming under our cluster?

After logging on using the cluster credentials, click the Academic Auditing tab and then choose the Course Mapping menu. Filter by the institution, program and semester type to view the list of Course Mappings. Click the Export icon against a Course Mapping to open a PDF file containing the Course Mapping.
